Description
Managing Successful Programmes (MSP®) – Practitioner
This two-day course will provide you with a thorough understanding of the internationally recognised and best practice programme management methodology Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), providing the skills you need to confidently use MSP to manage programmes in line with the strategic aims of a business and its day-to-day running.
By the end of this course, delegates will have the requisite skills to be able to identify and document the vision of a programme, thus aligning it to the strategic aims of the business. Candidates will also be able to coordinate the projects of a programme to ensure the correct application of resources and risk, issue and change management. There will be confidence in interface with the day to day business to ensure the smooth transition of changes delivered by a programme into business as usual activity and ensure that the benefits that the programme is designed to deliver are achieved.
This level is also a prerequisite for programme management professionals progressing toward the advanced practitioner certification, and those aspiring to become programme management professionals in the future.
Prerequisites
You should ideally have experience of managing or working in programmes prior to attending. Knowledge of the PRINCE2® 6th Edition® project management method is advantageous but by no means mandatory, but some exposure to a project management method will aid understanding of how the programme works with these projects.
Pre-Course Reading
- The success on the course will be enhanced by close attention to the pre-course reading materials. It is recommended that candidates spend 1-3 hours on it.
- If you have not received your pre-course reading material within one week of the start of your course, please contact our team.
- Additional work will be required in the evening during the course, consisting of consolidation reading, mock examination questions and exercises. This evening work is an integral part of the course and you should expect to spend about 2 hours each evening on these activities.
Please note: You must bring a signed photo ID with you on any professional exam (passport, driving licence or student card) as you will be asked to produce it by the invigilator prior to the exam. Failure to produce this ID will result in their exam results being withheld until proof of ID is provided. Please note that if proof is not provided within 40 days, candidate’s exam results will be null and void and a re-sit would be required.
The exam provider allows additional time for candidates who have a disability or whose native language differs to that of the examination paper. Full details and how to apply can be sought from our team by sending an email to training@makewayglobal.com. If you believe you qualify for this then please notify our team as early as possible (at least two weeks’ notice) to allow time for processing this request.
