Medical Doctor | Healthcare Administrator | Community Health Advocate

With over 15 years of experience in the medical field, Simisola has developed a strong track record in improving patient outcomes, optimising healthcare delivery, and leading strategic health initiatives. Her career spans both the public and private healthcare sectors, where she has been instrumental in enhancing operational efficiency, implementing healthcare policies, and developing standard operating procedures that improve overall system effectiveness.

In 2013, she co-founded Mayriamville Medical Centre, a 20-bed private healthcare facility, where she oversaw its day-to-day administrative and operational functions. As a key leader, she provided guidance and direction to a multidisciplinary team of over 25 employees across six departments, all committed to a shared vision of delivering high-quality patient-centred care.

Although she trained as a medical doctor, her passion lies in the administrative and strategic aspects of healthcare management. She is a specialist in process improvement, policy reform, and healthcare governance, ensuring that medical institutions operate efficiently and effectively to meet patient needs.

Leadership and Community Engagement

Beyond her administrative responsibilities, she is deeply involved in community health initiatives, where she has demonstrated effective leadership. She actively facilitates outreach programmes designed to improve lives, particularly in underserved populations. Over the years, she has, amongst many other engagements;

  • Volunteered with social organisations such as Steer for Change, where she contributes to providing maternal and newborn healthcare services
  • Organised an annual sexual health outreach programme, aimed at educating preteens, teenagers, and young adults on making informed decisions regarding their sexual and reproductive health
  • Developed public health education campaigns that focus on preventive medicine and patient advocacy

One of her key strengths is building competent, high-performing teams and fostering strong relationships with external stakeholders, ensuring collaborative success in achieving healthcare goals.

As a Fellow of the Healthcare Leadership Academy (HLA) at the University of Cambridge & Duke, she has gained a strong international perspective in leadership, financial management, and quality control within the healthcare industry.
