The focus of this course is to provide delegates with the practical skills to use value stream mapping in a service or manufacturing organisation.

The Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt training is designed to provide delegates with a good understanding of the basic Lean Six Sigma methods and prepare them not only to participate as contributors to Lean Six Sigma projects, but also to start to address simple improvements in their own working area. Yellow Belts are not experts in the methodology, but understand the activities, deliverables and key concepts of Team problem-solving. Yellow Belts are expected to improve processes in their own day-to-day work processes and provide Subject Matter Expertise to support Green and Black Belts. Following the use of the Lean Six Sigma methodology for several months, Yellow Belts can choose to continue on their Lean Six Sigma journey by attending the Green Belt training. This will provide a refresher to what they have learnt and develop a greater understanding of the methodology by introducing more tools. The Green Belt also offers the opportunity for certification.

This ten day course provides the experienced Green Belt with the necessary tools and techniques to manage improvement resources to deliver major projects. This hand-on learning experience develops both the delegate's technical knowledge and personal skills. The course uses a blend of theory and practical exercises to ensure that delegates have the confidence and capability to deliver more complex business improvement projects and transformations. Lean and Six Sigma, both proven business improvement approaches, provide businesses with the ability to maximise customer, employee and shareholder value by minimising process variation and waste. The examination, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, is taken on the final day of this second week.

Improvement projects aim to reduce the cost of poor quality, increase process capability, minimise process cycle time and remove waste to deliver what the customer wants, ultimately resulting in increased customer satisfaction. Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Practitioner provides the skills necessary to successfully complete DMAIC projects, including basic knowledge of planning, team problem-solving methods and improvement strategies. The training combines lectures with interactive group exercises and hands-on work using examples related primarily to the services industry. Please note: This course includes a refresher of the content encountered in the Yellow Belt course. It is therefore recommended that delegates who have attended the Yellow Belt course gain several months of practical experience before returning to complete this course.

Executives and Lean Six Sigma project Champions play a critical role in establishing and maintaining a Lean Six Sigma Management System to ensure delivery of sustainable breakthrough results. Executives and Champions need to understand the key concepts and methods of Lean Six Sigma. Equally importantly they need to understand their critical role in aligning, mobilising and managing all elements of the organisation to implement a LeanSix Sigma Management System. It is when LeanSix Sigma is implemented as a Management System that organisations see the greatest impact.

The Lean Six Sigma Awareness training is an intensive 1-day session designed to provide delegates with a good high level understanding of Lean Six Sigma methods, with a focus on aspects of cultural Change Management, Programme Management, Project Selection and the Return on Investment on Lean Six Sigma and Process Improvement. Examples and Case studies are exclusively from the services industry (Finance, Telecommunications, IT). The course combines lectures, hands on exercises and group discussion.

The course can be attended following on from the Green Belt Practitioners course or as a stand-alone course for those wanting to know more about statistical analysis using Minitab®. In the course we consider more advanced techniques required to help analyse process data, interpret the results and apply inferential techniques to measure the risk associated with change and improvement decisions. Upon completion of LSSA delegates are fully equipped to tackle more complex business problems and complement qualitative analysis from the Green Belt (process modelling, VOC analysis, Value analysis, Root cause analysis) with formal statistical methods (estimation, hypothesis testing, correlation analysis). Theoretical concepts are supported by hands on exercises using real project data. Software used is Minitab® On the last day of the training, delegates sit on the Statistical Analyst certification exam.
